On the journey to the San Juan Islands in the Pacific Northwest, I discover that the bilge is full of seawater ! I spend 3 days in Gig Harbor WA, before attempting to go further. Again the bilge fills with water. I spent 3 more days in Eagle Harbor on Bainbridge Island before deciding to turn around and head back to home port to fix the problem. On the return trip my timing with the tide in the Tacoma Narrows is off and I end up racing through it at 11.5 knots ! riding a tidal wave into South Puget Sound.
