"Tulsa King" Season 1 is a gripping American crime drama masterpiece, directed by Benjamin Semanoff and Allen Coulter, written by Terence Winter, Taylor Sheridan, among others, led by Sylvester Stallone, with a stellar cast including Garrett Hedlund, Andrea Savage and many other talented actors. It premiered in the United States on November 13, 2022.
In the play, Stallone plays Dwight "The General" Manfredi, who was once an important figure in a New York Mafia family. He took the rap for the boss and spent a long 25 years in prison. After being released from prison, he was full of expectations for the family's acceptance and reward, but was hit hard. The former boss was already old, the power of the family had fallen into the wrong hands, and the new ruler ruthlessly exiled him to Tulsa, Oklahoma, a strange land completely different from the New York gangster world.
When first arriving in Tulsa, Dwight faced many challenges. But this veteran who had been through many battles did not sink. With years of accumulated gang experience, extraordinary courage and tenacious perseverance, he decided to start from scratch here and build his own new criminal empire. He quickly observed the situation in Tulsa, found the opportunity of marijuana legalization, broke into the marijuana store alone, and with tough yet witty means, successfully reached an agreement with the boss to collect 20% of the profits as protection fees, thus starting his first journey in Tulsa.
In the process of expanding his power, Dwight met all kinds of people and took them into his team. Among them were Lawrence "Bodhi" Geigerman, who sold marijuana and seemed unreliable but had unique value; Mickey Keller, the bar owner, who had certain connections in the local area; and his personal driver Tyson Mitchell, who was young and loyal. In addition, he had a complicated emotional entanglement with ATF agent Stacy Beale. On the one hand, Stacy investigated Dwight's criminal behavior due to her duties, and on the other hand, she was attracted by his unique charm.
As Dwight's power in Tulsa gradually grew, he inevitably clashed with various forces. The business of local drug dealers was affected, and frictions between the two sides continued, eventually evolving into a fierce firefight. Within the Mafia, some people were dissatisfied with him. His best friend in the past even tried to harm him while he was in prison. Little C, the son of the old Mafia patriarch, was even more mischievous behind the scenes. He not only acquiesced in his subordinates' violation of Dwight's daughter, but also wanted to kill him after the incident was exposed. The local police in Tulsa also kept a close eye on him, determined to bring him to justice.
Faced with pressures and threats from all sides, Dwight showed extraordinary wisdom and courage. He skillfully maneuvered among various forces, used contradictions between them to create opportunities for himself, and resolved crises time and again. In the battle with the local gang, although he went through many hardships, he unexpectedly got a sum of money. However, in the process of fighting with various forces, he was also arrested by the police for bribery. But this is only part of his legendary experience. Dwight kept looking for a way out in difficulties, laying many suspense for the development of the subsequent plot.
