South Korea transformed Yongsan iPark Mall into a public gallery this week as it hosted the 2026 Seoul Origami Festival, transforming simple paper into stunning artworks.

Footage captured on Wednesday shows several origami pieces, such as a small blue Pegasus taking flight, angel and devil figures side by side, insects of all kinds, among others. Children can also be seen making their own origami at a dedicated space at the festival venue.

"My kids are very interested in origami, so we were really looking forward to this festival. They explored each piece one by one and even took photos. From what I've seen, the works are very detailed and well-crafted. It’s fascinating and has truly been an educational experience," visitor Lee Min-jung remarked.

"It's incredible to see how skilled people in Korea are at origami. Seeing their work here inspires me to try folding like this myself," another visitor, Kim Do-hyun, added.

The festival also featured themed exhibition zones that showcased handmade paper art by local creators, inviting visitors to explore the artistic side of paper folding.

The festival, which launched on January 23, wrapped up on Wednesday.
