Day 12 - Steps: Every trans person's journey is different and the sequence they choose to create their reality will vary. Some may choose to simply start by throwing away their old clothes and buying new clothes that fully fit their gender. Others may start by seeing a professional to help guide them through the proper steps to transition safely and in a healthy manner. I suggest anyone who is questioning their process and not sure what to do, to go and seek help from a doctor immediately. Since I had been getting laser hair removal for years at this point, I did not have facial hair, which for a lot of trans can be a big battle. For me, I had been observing the lifestyle for so long I was already quite familiar with the process and I knew I wanted to start by doing Hormone Replacement Therapy. I also knew that I would immediately be getting rid of anything that was remotely boyish and replacing them with girl things. I remember going through old clothes, trinkets that said "Scott" on them and found myself having a hard time letting go. It's best to remember when a trans person takes on this new identity, they are not changing as a person. They are still the same person inside, but the outside changes, along with numerous other things. But I realized at that moment I was not ashamed of being born a biological boy nor was I looking to ever forget that part of my life. It was just time for me to live my truth and take on this new self-discovery that I had worked so hard to identify. You also never want to leave anyone in the dark and it is best to be honest with everyone, especially now that you are being honest with yourself. It was obvious I needed to inform my family and friends of my decision to become a woman and let everyone know to call me Gia.

Dia 12 - Los pasos: Cada persona transgénero tiene un camino diferente por adelante y el modo en que tomen su camino para crear su realidad es único. Unos comienzan tirando todo la ropa que los identificaban como el genero de nacimiento y compraran todo lo que los identifican con el genero que les corresponden. Otros van a ver especialistas para guiarlos hacia una transición saludable. Urgió que si algunos de ustedes tienen preguntas sobre el proceso que vayan a ver un especialista o médico. Como yo había tenido sesiones de láser para depilarme no tenía mucho vello y tener vello visible es un problema para muchos en transición. Yo había observado este estilo de vida por un tiempo que tenía una mejor idea de los pasos que yo quería tomar. Comencé con la terapia de remplazar las hormonas y también comencé a limpiar mi ropero removiendo toda la ropa masculina. Recuero en ver ropa marcada con el nombre “Scott” y eso fue duro para remover. Es bien en saber que cuando una persona hace la transición, la persona y el ser dentro nunca cambia. El mismo ser humano vivo dentro solo lo externo cambia. Nunca negaré que nací como varón y jamás negaré esa parte de mi vida. Era tiempo de vivir mi verdad y decirle a todos mi descubrimiento. No es buena idea en negar la verdad a tu familia y amistades. Era una buena idea para mi en declárame a mi familia y amigos de mi verdad y decirles que me llamaban GIA.
