Learn how to change menu color in WordPress step by step.

Changing the menu color in WordPress is a quick and easy process. To start pull up your website. Click into an area on your site and right-click. Click the Inspect tab. It’ll now pull up the Inspect Elements. Hover over and select an element on the page to inspect it. Scroll to the menu area on the page. It’ll highlight stuff when you hover over it. I’ll hover over the menu area where it highlights the menu and I’ll click it. It’ll take me to the code here in the Inspect Element.

If for some reason you can’t get just the menu to highlight you can click the menu area like seen here or just click one of the menu pages. It’ll take you to the code area for the menu you need to be at. Next, I’ll hover over the class here for the menu. You’ll see the class name here. I’ll double-click on class. I’ll copy it.

On the WordPress page editor click Customize. Click Additional CSS. Input a . then paste it the class name we copied. Skip a space. Put an opening curly bracket in after it. I’ll go ahead and enter a closing curly bracket on line 3. I’ll go to line 2. Type in background and select it. Input a colon. Skip a space. I’ll input red. I’ll select it. You’ll see the color changes. Make sure to put a semi-colon after the color or color code. You can type in any color you’d like to change it. If you want to input a color code just input the color code. You’ll see the menu color changes to the color code.

Click the Publish button to save the changes you’ve made to the color of the WordPress menu for your WordPress site.
