In this video, I have explained the journey of Indian economy since independence to Nehrus years in 1967. I have explained how Nehrus rhetoric of Socialist policies was only empty narrative and not ever implemented in India. In Agriculture, the need of hour was Land Reforms but it was never implemented seriously. Many of the INC politicians were big landlords who thwarted the attempts to implement this big reforms and that is the main reason why India’s land reforms were big failure of Nehru. In Manufacturing sector, India head already established light industry which included small firms based in towns. But instead of these small firms which were actually Labour Intensive, Nehru had focused on the Capital Intensive Core Heavy Industries which required large capital. This heavy industries approach was not enough to create the sufficient jobs in India.
I have also explained how Nehrus failure to give importance to primary education led India to Unproductive workers and non-competitive industry sector in India. #indiaeconomy #economy
