Godfall is an Online Action Hack and Slash looter developed by Counterplay Games and published by Gearbox Publishing. The setting begins in the world of Aperion just after the Upheaval, the event wherein a race of warriors called the Valorians started a coup d’etat against their 12 individual creators called the Archons which led to an all-out war in which they won. The Valorian’s leaders during the war, Orin and Macros, would soon start a new civilization of new peace and order. However, this was not meant to be…Macros, hunger for power, would pursue godhood in order to rule the world. Orin, finding that his brother’s goal does not differ with those of the corrupted Archons, stood and raised his arms in defiance. A battle between the said brothers will then be told within the perspective of Orin and his companions pertaining to their battles against the army of Macros.

This game received mixed reviews of 61 (PC) and 59 (PS5) at launch. While praises were given on its action packed gameplay, armor designs and graphics, a lot of criticisms were found on its bugs/glitches, dull story, lack of interesting characters, repetitive gameplay, small variety in its valorplates and builds, and the lack of any worthwhile endgame contents despite it being an online looter game.

As for me, I really liked its God of War-esque action and the variety of its weapon loadout and valorplate design. But I can see the issue found on the repetitiveness of its missions in the story campaign as well as the lack of any cutscenes or any decent plot development in telling its story. I also encountered some annoying bugs/glitches but not really enough to consider the game unplayable. As for the endgame content at launch, I would definitely agree it is one of its most weak features despite being an online coop game. Still though, its continued updates would slowly fix this issues regarding the endgame content and bug/glitches. The story on the other hand though, still is bad. For me, if you like an action packed game and does not really focus too much on story, then this is an ok game for you. Enjoy!!!
