Short, medium and long-term corruption trends for Libya and other North African countries are presented in this video using scores published by Transparency International in their Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) 2023 report.

The video reviews Libya’s performance in addressing corruption in the periods 2016-2023, 2018-2023 and 2022-2023.

Libya’s CPI score recorded a sizeable decline in 2012-2023. The country’s CPI score deteriorated in 2012-2016 and then staged a partial recovery in 2016-2019.

The rate of change in the country’s CPI score was materially less than the rate of change in average North African, African and global CPI scores in 2012-2023 but the reverse outcomes arising in 2018-2023 and 2022-2023.

Libya’s CPI score continually produced the lowest score among North African countries in 2012-2023; it was also materially less than average North African, African and global CPI scores continuously throughout 2012-2023. #corruption #libya #northafrica
