Is Wife Beating Allowed in Islam?

I hope this video was comprehensive and holistic. I wanted to include all the scholarly, madhab opinions, commentaries and tafsirs on this. As well as reference hadith. I would've liked a video like this explaining Quran Chapter 4 verse 34. 4:34. Years ago, but there was nothing satisfying online and no complete understanding of the verse, the chapter, hadiths and also an analysis on the actual language itself. I think the main problem is not understanding the rights both husbands and wives have over each other and what is meant by defiant disobedience. People usually compare everything with the west and can't help but think of domestic abuse - also I think just translating the word to "beat" or "strike" isn't the best as far more detail is needed, even if they did translate it like that - if they at least provide footnotes - then it's much better. I think the Clear Quran has a good translation and footnotes. There was also another example of daraba I forgot to add where daraba on the head of the people sleeping in the cave actually is understood as a mother pats the baby to sleep - whereas the Quran would literally translate as their ears being beaten.
