ABOUT SGMUSO
SGMUSO’s role is to serve Music People. To give them the skills and opportunities to fulfil their dreams. For some, this dream is to be able to have a career in music, for others it is to release an album on Spotify, or perform at the Star Theatre. Our initiatives are structured to support, educate, and amplify the efforts of our beneficiaries.

WHY MUSICIAN SUPPORT FUND?
SGMUSO stands with Music People.
Most working musicians are unable to perform at venues and events due to COVID-19. We as SGMUSO want to stand with the Music Community by providing relief and support for those who are badly affected.

SGMUSO aims to help Music People pivot.
With current measures restricting live performances, SGMUSO is committed not just to providing a platform for Music People, but also to help them pivot to the digital realm to stay relevant in these extraordinary times.

Health support is essential.
Some Music People struggle to pay a bill or their rent, some are under tremendous mental strain and need help. We want to extend a hand by providing support – not just financial help, but access to health assistance as well.

WHERE WILL MY MONEY GO?
Fund-a-Bill
One-time assistance payout to support a dire payment of a beneficiary’s bill.
Beneficiaries: Music People in urgent need of financial assistance to offset costs of daily living, including:

Rent | Utilities | Food | School fees

Prerequisites: Verification that they are Music People, supporting documentation which includes the particular bill being paid for by SGMUSO.

Fund-a-Gig
Remunerate beneficiaries for a live-streamed performance in support of their livelihood.
Beneficiaries: Performing Musicians
Prerequisites: Verification that they are Music People who are active in the music performance scene.

Fund-a-Band
Scaled up version of Fund-a-Gig which remunerates beneficiaries, in the form of band, who perform via a live stream supported by a production team.
Beneficiaries: Performing Bands and Music Production Teams
Prerequisites: Verification that they are Music and Production People who are active in the music performance scene.

Fund-a-Skill
Provide further subsidies for beneficiaries to pursue up-skilling opportunities in this challenging COVID climate
Beneficiaries: All Active Music People
Prerequisites: Verification that they are individuals in the Music Community who are active in the music performance scene, and possess vested interest to up-skill.
