BMS Originals in association with ​⁠​⁠‪@BROBONSWAPNERDESHE‬ presents a bengali short film BHOOTMUKHI. Bankura Memes Shorts, mainly known for BMS Family Sketch or Jodubabur Tution, this time brings a short film collaborating with Brobon Production-Swapner Deshe in their segment BMS Originals. Moving from our safe space of sketches, we have tried experimenting this time with a Bangla Cinema. Though we are calling it a Drama, this film is mainly a love story with it's fair share of comedy and emotions. Featuring Durbar Sharma, whom we have seen in popular Bengali web series and Bengali Cinema previously, Shinjinee Chakraborty, famous for her portrayal of Uma in the Bengali Serial, and Unmesh Ganguly, your beloved Ghoton, who is featured as the narrator of this film. Bhootmukhi is directed by Rajat Roy and Arunava Mukherjee, who have previosuly written and directed Lukochuri, Aiburo, Biyer Phool which have become very popular in their own YouTube channel and have previously collaborated with Unmesh in the much popular Nagorik franchise. Interestingly, Durbar, Shinjinee and Unmesh had recently collaborated with Rajat and Arunava in Nagorik 2.

সারসংক্ষেপ: ভূতমুখী নামটার মধ্যে থাকা ভূত শব্দটি বুঝিয়ে দিচ্ছে কোন না কোন ভাবে এই গল্প কোনো এক বা, একাধিক অদৃশ্যের না পাওয়ার গল্প। গল্পের তিনটি মুখ্য চরিত্র অনাগত(গল্প কথক), জয়া এবং কৃষ্ণ।
কৃষ্ণ এবং জয়া আসলে বাংলার কোন এক নির্লিপ্ত গ্রামে ভালবাসায় আবদ্ধ অজস্র প্রেমিক-প্রেমিকাদের প্রতিনিধি। যারা সবার আড়ালে নিজেদের মতন করে ভালো থাকার স্বপ্ন দেখে। জয়া এবং কৃষ্ণর বর্ণ আলাদা হওয়ায় ওদের সামাজিক বিয়ে ছিল প্রায় অসম্ভব। সেই কারণেই কৃষ্ণ জয়াকে রাজি করায় গ্রাম ছেড়ে পালিয়ে দূরে গিয়ে গড়ে তুলবে নিজেদের স্বপ্নের সংসার। যেমন কথা তেমন কাজ দুজনেই বেড়িয়ে যায় সমস্ত বাঁধাকে পেছনে রেখে। এই পথ ওদের কতদূরে নিয়ে যায়, প্রাপ্তি আর অপ্রাপ্তির দোলাচলে ওদের ভালোবাসা কীভাবে টিকে থাকে সেই গল্পই ফুটিয়ে তোলে ভূতমুখী।

Synopsis: The word Bhoot in the name ‘Bhootmukhi’ means that this is a story of paranormal elements. But in Bangla Bhoot is synonymous to Past life where someone has lost something. And they're in search of that missing piece of life. The three main characters of this story are Anagata (storyteller), Jaya and Krishna.
Krishna and Jaya are actually representatives of countless lovers bound in love in secluded villages of Bengal. As Jaya and Krishna were of different castes, their social marriage was almost impossible. But they too had their dream of a life surrounded with happiness and love. That's why Krishna convinces Jaya to run away from the village and weave their dream of having a family. Both of them leave behind all the barriers. How far this path takes them, how their love survives in the swing of success and failure is the story of Bhootmukhi.
