Footage of the conclusion of the Aburi Conference, a peace initiative chaired by the Ghanaian military ruler, Lieutenant General Joseph Ankrah. The talks, which were held on January 4 and 5 1967, aimed to avert the threatened secession of the Eastern Region of Nigeria.

The participants were as follows:

1. Lt.-General J.A. Ankrah, Chairman
2. Lt.-Col. Yakubu Gowon, Head of State of Nigeria
3. Lt.-Col. Odumegwu Ojukwu, Governor of the Eastern Region
4. Major Mobolaji Johnson, Governor of Lagos State
5. Lt.-Col. Hassan Katsina, Governor of the Northern Region
6. Lt.-Col. David Ejoor, Governor of the Mid-Western Region
7. Commodore Joseph Edet Akinwale Wey, the Chief of Naval Staff
8. Colonel Robert Adebayo, the Governor of the Western Region
9. Alhaji Kam Selem, Chief of the Police Force
10. Mr. T. Omo-Bare, Deputy Inspector General of Police

The footage also includes Air Vice Marshal Michael Otu greeting Lieutenant Colonel Gowon as he alights from a plane and Mr. J.W.K. Harlley, the Vice Chairman of Ghana's ruling junta which was styled as the National Liberation Council.
