Male Psychopathy: Understanding Psychopaths In Relationships- Psychotherapy Crash Course

It's often very easy to experience trauma at the hands of a psychopath.

As you know, someone diagnosed with psychopathy or psychopaths who have little to no regard for the rights of others can be very dangerous. They seek out people who can fulfill their own self-interest at wherever the cost.

I truly believe psychopathy can thwart a child's development if a parent exhibits these traits. Psychopathy can also confuse a relationship if a partner has a variety of pathological traits.

In this video, I discuss a few of the traits associated with psychopathy and incorporate some info on male psychopaths.

The twenty traits assessed by the PCL-R score are:

glib and superficial charm

grandiose (exaggeratedly high) estimation of self

need for stimulation

pathological lying

cunning and manipulativeness

lack of remorse or guilt

shallow affect (superficial emotional responsiveness)

callousness and lack of empathy

parasitic lifestyle

poor behavioral controls

sexual promiscuity

early behavior problems

lack of realistic long-term goals

impulsivity

irresponsibility

failure to accept responsibility for own actions

many short-term marital relationships

juvenile delinquency

revocation of conditional release

criminal versatility
