On September 12, 2024, Sergeant Robert Warrington pulled over to assist what he believed was a stranded motorist. The video shows a brief and calm conversation with a man who was also at the scene. The situation takes an unbelievable turn when the officer suddenly discharges his firearm in the direction of the man, who was simply retrieving his hat as it blew into the road.

Miraculously, the man was not struck by the bullet. The footage then captures the officer's immediate and repeated apologies following the incident. Following an investigation, Sergeant Warrington was indicted by a grand jury on multiple charges, including attempted second-degree murder and first-degree assault.
