Did you know in Japan there’s a legend about a demon who hides behind the face of an old woman?
They call her Onibaba — the demon crone who lures travelers into her hut deep in the mountains.
A boy once sought shelter from the cold and met a kind old lady sewing quietly by the fire.
She offered him soup and warned, “Don’t open the back door.”
But curiosity won.
When midnight came, he peeked through the crack — and saw bodies hanging, their skin stitched together like cloth.
Before he could flee, the woman stood behind him…
Her eyes gone.
Her mouth split wide with teeth up to her cheeks.
He escaped — but lost his mind.
And ever since that night, whenever he sees an old woman, he screams:
“Don’t sew me!”
