4 of 4 - Day Hike Mini Gas Stove

Описание к видео 4 of 4 - Day Hike Mini Gas Stove

A compact mini gas stove setup capable of real cooking that can boil a litre of water - enough for a day hike. This setup is heavier than my other alcohol stoves and can boil less but has the advantage of accurate heat output which makes it ideal where a controlled simmer is required. This is ideal when cooking more adventurous meals.

The gas cylinder I have is currently unavailable but others can be found. Camping Moon have a few of different sizes. They are quite expensive. The one in the video is about 2 inches in diameter and tall. It can hold about 15 g of gas. I am using butane and am able to boil a litre. It's best to check that the cylinder has been fully filled by weighing it.

I initially used a BRS3000 stove but found that the gas cylinder became dangerously hot. Shame because this would have made a very compact setup. Use any stove that's efficient and che cck that it doesn't overheat the cylinder.

Most of these cylinders have a tripod bush fitted. I am using a gas lantern tripod sold as an accessory for these gas cylinders.
