How To Replace a Triumph Fuel Pump - Getting My Spitfire Powered Herald Back On The Road [TUTORIAL]

Описание к видео How To Replace a Triumph Fuel Pump - Getting My Spitfire Powered Herald Back On The Road [TUTORIAL]

After breaking down late at night with fuelling issues, it was time to replace the Triumphs fuel pump. A nice easy job without need for specialist tools. I also decided to replace the rubber fuel hoses with R9 rated hose due to cracking and the potential fire risk.

Due to the weather, I opted for a voiceover in this video.

Remember before working on the car to remove the negative terminal from the battery.

Having had a think about it, fairy liquid may not have been the best for helping get the hose on - there are other ways - such as spitting on it!

Parts:
Fuel Hose
Fuel Pump

Tools:
Screwdriver for Jubilee Clips
Red Clamp for Fuel Hose
13mm Socket for Fuel Pump Nuts
Disposable Gloves

For the Spitfire 1300 MkiV engine, I needed the following fuel hose:

I also needed the fuel pump. As mentioned in the video the pump from RimmerBros didn't fit due to the shape of the lever arm, so here is the link to what I ordered:

It is worth mentioning that some owners have found the fuel pumps you can buy now put out too much pressure and flood the carb - so keep this in mind if you have any issues. Rebuild kits are available.
