The confluence of fresh & salt water along with water currents are used to produce energy.

Due to climate change, The Netherlands need to even be more careful on water management and thus The Afsluitdijk will be heightened along wuth a new top layer. This will help the Afsluitdijk to protect Netherlands for the coming 50 years.
