Xi Leaves for China after State visit to Russia

Chinese President Xi Jinping left Moscow Wednesday morning for China after wrapping up a state visit to Russia.

Upon Xi's departure, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko and other senior Russian officials saw him off with a grand farewell ceremony at the airport.

Xi arrived in Moscow on Monday afternoon for the state visit at the invitation of his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.

Upon his arrival, Xi met with Putin at the Kremlin and exchanged views with the Russian leader on bilateral ties and the Ukraine crisis.

The two leaders held formal talks on Tuesday to exchange views on bilateral ties and major regional and international issues of mutual interest.

After the talks, President Xi and President Putin signed the Joint Statement of the People's Republic of China and the Russian Federation on Deepening the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership of Coordination for the New Era, stressing the need to settle the Ukraine crisis through dialogue and peace talks.

They also signed the Joint Statement of the President of the People's Republic of China and the President of the Russian Federation on Pre-2030 Development Plan on Priorities in China-Russia Economic Cooperation.

Bilateral cooperation documents in such areas as agriculture, forestry, basic scientific and technological research, market regulation, and the media were also signed by the two sides during Xi's visit.
