" Research Data and their Metadata" is an educational video on research data management. The video explains briefly the concept metadata and where they are important during the research data lifecycle. Using the example of a data table, the terms metadata and metadata schema are explained. Conventions on metadata make the results of different researchers comparable, traceable and interoperable.
The video also gives examples of metadata that are relevant at different points in the life cycle. The metadata management can for instance be recorded in a data management plan. Data producers, project members as well as reusers oft he data can then find all important information about the research data management in a single document.
