Hannibal in the Alps, Op.2 - Manish Lamport

Описание к видео Hannibal in the Alps, Op.2 - Manish Lamport

Symphonic Poem No.1, Op.2 'Hannibal in the Alps' - Manish Lamport (composition and lyrics)
This is a massive orchestral piece, featuring an extended Brass and Percussion section, including 2 cannons and church bells, as well as an organ, full scale SATB choir and solo soprano and contralto singers.

(By the way, I am aware of the fact that cannons were not invented during this time, but decided to add them anyway because it makes the ending just a bit better.)

Lyrics:
See dawn rise,
Fair light,
Through the Heav’n of God,
For victory bears fruit of Grace and Mercy.

Lord, what cometh morn? (Lord, what cometh morn?)
Lord, what cometh nigh? (Lord, what cometh nigh?)
Arise! (Grow my rose!) Heav’n awaits thee!
And Pride! (For our sacrifice!) Eternal Glory!

Conquered death,
Conquered fate,
(See us rise through fire),
Conquered all adversity in God’s sky (Through the flames)!

Onwards into light,
To embrace all of your love!
