The Iliopsoas is a group of muscles situated underneath the pelvis.

The group is important for stability of the lumbar, lumbosacral and hip regions as well as hip and lumbosacral flexion.

It is made up of 3 muscles :-
1. the psoas major,
2. the psoas minor,
3. the iliacus.

Horses, like people, often have issues in this area.

This model was sculpted by Gillian Higgins as an aid for her teaching and anatomy and biomechanics lectures. Learn more about it at www.HorsesInsideOut.com
