Episode 2 of our ‘Story of a Golf Club’ series takes us inland to the Heathland of Surrey, at Woking Golf Club. Rated as one of the greatest inland course in the UK, with a rich history predating any of the other Surrey sand-belt greats, Woking is ground-zero for strategic course architecture famed for its 4th hole by past members Stuart Paton and John Low.

Woking is a fabulous golf course, with 18 excellent holes that make it greater than the sum of its parts. Holes perfectly framed by tall trees, with rich heather being the perfect penalty of an errant drives gives the golfer excitement on the tee, but it’s the greens at Woking that are the biggest defence. 

We will be travelling the length and breadth of the UK & Ireland, helping to share the rich tapestry that is the story of golf our wonderful golf clubs, sharing the stories and folklore that have become fact, taking an aerial look at course architecture and showcasing the clubs and their unique ethos.
