This is Dr. Ron Berges 1971 Ford Maverick, racing under the Dr. Ron Racing banner. The car only 15k street miles on it before it was converted to a race car. He runs SS/DM currently. The car is appropriately named Head Games, as Dr. Ron is a Psychiatrist. The car is a 1971 Maverick, that was built into a race car in 1972, by North Carolina drag racing Hall of Famer, Jerry Williams, it was raced and sold to Craig Smitherman and raced up until Dr. Ron bought it in 1995. The car is running "king Kong" am A; Parker Engines built 311ci Boss 302 Based engine. It has 52 year old iron Ford Boss 302s heads with no Port fillers, they flow 377/240 with 7mm Titanium valves. The intake is a sheet metal one fabricated in 1988. The car runs 9.50s at 140mph. Hopefully with correct clutch adjustment, may go 9.20-30s at 143-145mph. Dr. Ron Racing has Gary Pierson as Team Manager, David Grant as Crew Chief, and Ryan Berges as Assistant Crew Chief. Big Shout out to Buck Brothers Racing for all the Tuning help. Dr. Ron is also Member of Awareness Motorsports, along with Larry and Aaron Puff. Will get more in depth on his racing history, and his cars on a Live Chat on DragBoss Garage in the future. Stay tuned, and thanks for the sponsorship Dr. Ron racing.
