The most tired take in the Persona fandom. But is there a reason beyond repetition why Persona fans hate seeing this opinion in this exact wording every time? I don't think most people would even disagree on the quality of Persona 3's story, the likability of Persona 4's cast, and the innovative gameplay of Persona 5. It almost feel as though people have either forgotten why they say these things, or are just parroting what everyone else has been saying for years at this point. Is this genuine belief or just reinforcing the status quo?

Whether it be Persona 3 FES, Persona 3 Portable, or Persona 3 Reload, it's labeled as "the story game". Even with the unpopularity of Marie in Persona 4 Golden, it still has the best characters, I guess. Persona 5 Royal is too easy but is still the "only one with good gameplay".

P3 Best Story! but they only tout the second half of it?
P4 Best Characters! but they ignore all the side cast?
P5 Best Gameplay! but Okumura bad? (the boss that really emphasizes the game mechanics)
