This 90-minute webinar on ‘Governance for Food System Transformation in African Cities’ took place on 23rd January 2023. It was organised by Hivos and RUAF, and discussed strategies for promoting inclusive multi-actor governance to empower public officials, small businesses and communities with ownership and agency to shape their food systems.

This is the second webinar under the AfriFOODlinks CoP for Transformation of Urban Food Systems, which links researchers and policy makers across Africa and Europe, promotes networking and shares knowledge on best practices on Urban Food Systems governance in Africa and beyond.

The objective of the webinar was to increase shared understanding of issues related to governance of urban food systems by drawing on both expert inputs and on the experiences in selected African cities. It examines how understanding of governance issues can strengthen work to advance food systems transformation, including harnessing favourable governance and working around unfavourable governance.
