watercolor landscape speed-painting - making of the "Light in the Thicket"

Описание к видео watercolor landscape speed-painting - making of the "Light in the Thicket"

This watercolor landscape speed-painting video shows the making-of of my watercolor, "Light in the Thicket".

How I painted a moody forest scene without any prior sketch?
See for yourself!

I allowed the first layers to be wild and bold because I was certain my watercolor paper could withstand any amount of corrections. Luckily, I was right. To complete this watercolor I had to not only paint but also lift color from some places when the paint dried, like with the edges of the backlit trees.

In general, whenever you'd think I'm using white paint to add accents, I'm actually just lifting paint (occasionally adding some Naples Yellow mixed with Green Gold).

Let me know in the comments what you think!
