In our most recent undertaking, we transformed an outdoor space with a stunning retaining wall and a patio, all while ensuring efficient drainage. Don’t just take our word for it, though; see our masterful work in our latest installation video.

The project kicked off with meticulous planning, including the essential task of ensuring there were no utilities in our excavation zone. With the area deemed safe, we commenced excavating the base for the retaining wall and patio.

During the excavation phase, we prioritized installing an efficient downspout drainage system using PVC pipe. Strategically placed beneath the patio and retaining wall, it carried away water to a pop-up emitter in the yard—effectively eliminating potential drainage issues.

Afterward, we lined the trench with #57 stone, providing a sturdy base for the retaining wall and patio. We then skillfully built a robust retaining wall using Belgard Diamond Pro 9D wall block and a matching wall cap. The wall was strengthened with Gator Block Bond XP polyurethane adhesive and further secured using a SRW universal geogrid, ensuring its longevity.

Upon the wall's completion, we backfilled the area with screen fill dirt, compacting it for a firm, level surface. The next phase saw the creation of a sublime Belgard Dimensions three-piece patio, beautifully complemented by a sophisticated midnight accent border.

But we didn’t stop there. A new set of stairs was built, leading up to the patio and into the backyard. To complete this transformation, we laid fresh Bermuda sod, ensuring a smooth and clean finish to our client's revitalized outdoor space.
