I've published a lot of articles and books all throughout my career. What most of my colleagues don't know is that I have had some rejections — hundreds of them.

Reasons to Stop
The basic reasons for refusing a manuscript in any journal are:

Technical errors such as the discrepancy between the abstract and the rest of the paper, incorrect class classification, misleading statistics, clinically irrelevant results, no relation between the results and their discussion, false data, etc.
