On Saturday 25th March 2023, Ww644 ran it’s first excursion on the mainline! The excursion ran from Glenbrook to Hamilton and return. Along the way to Hamilton we got the oppurtunity to have a photo run by at Mercer. And also got a photo run by at Te Kauwhata on the return trip. DBR1254 was also on the train behind Ww644 incase they had any problems with the Ww. And also if it needed a hand getting up some of the grades between Glenbrook & Hamilton.
