This arrangement of “We Thank Thee, O God, for a Prophet” came from counsel I followed from President Russell M. Nelson. He once shared that he would sometimes combine scripture study with playing the piano, and that it became a revelatory experience for him. I felt inspired to try the same — and as I did, the Spirit truly guided me.
I prayed, read a few scriptures and I felt a thought come: “Why don’t you record ten things you are grateful for about President Nelson?” As I did, each feeling of gratitude shaped the melody and flow of this piece. The result is this piano and strings tribute.
This video features peaceful images of President Nelson, paired with gentle piano and string music meant to invite the Spirit and bring peace and rest to anyone who listens.
