After 17 years, the US Air Force has finally received a brand-new F-15 Eagle fighter jet. Along with its two older siblings, the fighters F-15C Eagle and F-15E Strike Eagle, the F-15EX made a flight from Boeing's facility in St. Louis to Eglin Air Force Base in Florida on March 11. At Eglin Air Force Base, the brand-new warplane will join a squadron for testing and evaluation.
The F-15EX was flown to Eglin Air Force Base by Lt. Col. Richard "Tac" Turner, Commander of the 40th Flight Test Squadron, and Lt. Col. Jacob "Duke" Lindaman, Commander of the 85th Test and Evaluation Squadron. The 53rd and 96th Test Wings are situated in Eglin.
