ZVEX..the whacky pedal makers. The Fuzz Factory...probably their most famous pedal, and winner of the 'pedal with the highest profit margin awards'.... I imagine.

OK, so yeh, this thing can be pretty expensive, especially some arty hand painted ones, but in fairness, its pretty frickin good, and guess what, the standard (cheaper) ones sound exactly the same.
This thing can go from whacky Muse like insanity to beautiful early 70's blues / psychedelic rock awesomeness.

The mix of compression, drive and the gate makes this pedal the most versatile I've ever played. Its not a distortion, or an overdrive, so don't expect that kind of tameable fuzz, you need to find a setting you like and let it play you. I particularly enjoyed the octave effects this thing generates, taking it into some kind of Hendrix Stoner Doom genre that Jimi never got the chance to invent.
What I REALLY liked about this pedal was how it came alive at full gigging volume, it compressed perfectly and felt just right. The highs at bedroom level evened out and the pedals lack of an obvious EQ / tone knob became irrelevant (through my AC15 normal channel at least), it didn't need one.

Yes they can be expensive, but the Vector series pedals.....absolutely worth it. Check out the ZVEX Distortron as well for that Marshall in a box thing, another cracking pedal.
