In this video I show you how to get readings from the magnetometers on the GY-87 module. Our GY-87 module has the QMC5883L 3 axis magnetometer, allowing us to measure magnetic field in the x, y and z directions. In todays lesson we will activate the module, and get readings from it. Then your homework will be to calibrate the sensor to allow calculation of heading, or yaw, or compass direction.
