A huge protest erupted in Himachal Pradesh's Shimla on Thursday, against the alleged illegal construction of the Sanjauli Mosque. Visuals have emerged from the protest site wherein a massive crowd can be seen raising slogans. The anger among locals was evident on Sunday as well as a sea of people took to streets against the construction of mosque and an attack on a trader in Malyana area of the city.

According to media reports, nearly 500 people from different parts of the city participated in the demonstration during Sunday's protest. The protesters expressed concern over the rise in population of migrants belonging to the minority community in Shimla, and also demanded police verification and registration of these "outsiders".
