Why Should I Make a Commitment Before Starting the Loving Parent Guidebook?

I know how easy it is to give up on things when the challenge becomes too great. In the end, this reinforces a failure identity. Pacing yourself to get to your goal adds to your success identity. Don't we already feel like we have failed at many things?

The Loving Parent Guidebook (LPG) is new literature from the Adult Children of Alcoholics fellowship. It is a workbook which draws upon many Psychological Theories and places an ACA spin onto them. Internal Family Systems Theory, DBT (Dialetical Behavior Therapy) and CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) have been rebranded to fit the ACA construct. I have used these theories in my professional practice for years. The new LPG provides the public with their own tool for growth and serenity. I describe here some basic concepts of the book as well as desired goals for undertaking this journey. This is the first part in a series of videos reviewing The Loving Parent Guidebook.
