Why Does Sex Hurt? Vulvar Pain and Pain During Sex - Jennifer Glayzer - 2022

A presentation on dyspareunia (pelvic pain during intercourse) and vulvodynia (vulvar pain of unknown cause) in females. Including what could be causing vulvar pain and/or pain during sex, who you should see for care, and different types of treatment.

Jen Glayzer is a register nurse and 4th year PhD student at the University of Illinois Chicago where she studies chronic pain with specialization in vulvodynia and Ehlers-Danlos syndrome. Jen has worked on research projects in peripheral neuropathy, hopelessness in cardiac patients, and acupuncture for the treatment of vulvodynia. She has a Bachelor of Nursing Science from Michigan State University and attended the national institute for nursing research summer genetic institute at the NIH.
