Let's Look at A NEW BUDGET ToupTek Electronic Filter Wheel (7 x 36mm version)

In this video, I’m unboxing and taking a quick look at the ToupTek Electronic Filter Wheel (AFW-M), specifically the 7-slot version for 36mm unmounted filters. This filter wheel seems to be an excellent, budget-friendly alternative to similar products from brands like ZWO, with a price tag of just $240.
I’ll show you what’s included in the box, how to connect the filter wheel to a PC, and briefly test its functionality. Although I don’t have filters to install yet, I’ll discuss my plans for pairing this filter wheel with a monochrome camera (IMX 571 sensor) for deep-sky imaging.

Why did I choose this filter wheel?

I’m transitioning to a monochrome setup with an APC-S size sensor and need a reliable, cost-effective filter wheel. While I’ve decided on my SHO filters, I’m still debating between Optolong 36mm unmounted filters and the Antlia V-Series LRGB filters. Let me know in the comments which filters you recommend! I’m planning to use my new IMX571 mono camera with 122mm APO f/5.6!
