(Filmed on 8/4/19). Since my family & I had to make a pit stop here to pick up my grandma, I decided to do a full hotel tour of this amazing property including the room my grandma was staying in. This motel, the Sister Bay Inn, is located in Sister Bay right off of Route 57 next to the Scandinavian Lodge where I filmed the Northwestern/Dover Impulse elevator in. Originally, this motel was named the Voyager Inn which went through many ownerships over the years.

When my mom & grandma use to own the property in the 80's, my grandma worked in the little office to the right of the motel rooms while my mom did all the housekeeping. Now that this property is owned by a Lithuanian family, they renamed it to the Sister Bay Inn, which is what it's currently named. This motel consists of the main building (contains all the exterior rooms), the check-in/check-out office (has a house behind the desk where the owners live), a smaller building with interior corridor rooms (this was added on in the 80's), breakfast room, whirlpool (guests are able to use it in the winter), and regular pool (this was added on in the late 90's).

While the major features from the Voyager Inn days remain original, there were a few minor changes made to it. First off, they converted room 118, which use to be an ordinary motel room, into a continental breakfast room. The old breakfast room across from the whirlpool is now being used for storage. Second, they seemed to rip out the carpet in the exterior corridor rooms and replace it with laminate wood flooring. Other than that, nothing much has changed.

While this might be a nice place to stay for people visiting Sister Bay & Door County in general, it does not appear to be ADA compliant since there's no elevator access to the lower level, especially to the laundry room located underneath the smaller building. The only alternative would be to book a room on the upper level in either building or maybe use the hill to get downstairs, LOL!!! However, another alternative would be to stay at the Scandinavian Lodge next door since that has an elevator & is ADA compliant.

Despite the downfall, the Sister Bay Inn is a reasonable lodging alternative, and I definitely recommend staying here for those of you looking for something nice & simple.
