Light Exposure: Full Sun
Moisture Requirement: Water well at least once a week unless rain fall is equivalent to one inch or more.
Soil Preference: Well drained average soil.
Seeds: Seeds should germinate n 10-15 days. Sow directly into soil during summer or start indoors 6-8 weeks prior to frost date. Plant will self sow.
Propagation: From seed or from division.
Planting Depth of Seed: ¼ inch
Planting Space: 7-10 inches
Plant Height: 2 Feet
Plant Width: 15-20 inches
Plant Color: Green foliage with yellow flowers. Different varieties offer different color centers and variations in bloom from yellow to orange.
Bloom: Flowers will bloom from early summer to late fall. Remove spent flowers to encourage new blooms. Blooms are almost double blooms on some varieties.
Care: Plant can be cut back to the ground in the fall. Fertilize lightly using a slow release formula around the base of the plant. Divide in the spring or fall.
Where to Grow: As a border or in a pot. Flowers have a meadow feel to them so they can be planted really anywhere.
Unique Characteristics: Plants will bloom consistently from early sumer to late fall. Flowers hold up well in arraignments.
Fun Fact: Coreopsis is sometimes referred to as tickseed due to the seeds looking like ticks.
