How to stay in Europe Longer than 90 days: The Australian Way

Guess What ! Aussies and Kiwis looking to extend their stay in Europe beyond the standard 90-day limit within the Schengen zone. You've probably heard about the whole 90 days in, 90 days out deal, right? Well, guess what? There's a loophole, and it's called the Australian Bilateral Visa Waiver Agreement.

So, here's the deal: there are 10 EU countries that are part of this agreement, including Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Germany, Luxembourg, Belgium, and Austria. But hey, let's not forget about those hidden gems like Bosnia, Montenegro, and Bulgaria which aren't part of the Schengen zone but still fall under this agreement.

Now, imagine you've spent your 90 days gallivanting around Europe but you're not ready to leave just yet. Well, here's a trick: hop on a super cheap flight, like the one I found from Berlin to Bosnia for just 15 euros, spend a day there, and bam! You've reset your 90 days.

Of course, before you go booking any flights, make sure to check the specific laws of each country. Personally, I kept a printout of the official agreement in my passport wallet just in case, but I never even got asked about it.

Unfortunately, this loophole only applies to us Aussies and Kiwis. Sorry, Brits, blame Brexit for that one!

Anyway, during my extended stays, I got to explore some amazing places like Bosnia and Bulgaria, which turned out to be not only incredibly welcoming but also super affordable. I mean, I was scoring apartments in Bosnia for less than 200 Aussie dollars a week!
