IC-7100 from A to Z #5 Operating RV Portable

Описание к видео IC-7100 from A to Z #5 Operating RV Portable

NOTICE: In July 2021 the channel name changed from HamCuredSmoke
To Ham Radio A2Z. All of the earlier videos (like this one) are still available.

This time we aren't covering anything specific about the 7100. Instead I'll show you the setup that I used while operating HF portable in our 5th wheel camper and we'll listen in on one QSO I had with a station back in Kansas while we were camping in Arizona.
One thing I wanted to illustrate in this video is that you can have a lot of fun with a very modest setup and antenna.
The antenna in the video is just a short dipole using an MFJ-347 Dipole adapter mount and 2 102" stainless steel CB whips along with a tuner. Links are below, if you're interested. These are Amazon Associate links. So I get a few percent if you buy stuff. It doesn't change your price.

This isn't exactly the pole I have, but it's pretty similar. Mine doesn't have the screw attachment at the end, it just ends as a piece of tubing. You definitely need to use guy ropes if you put anything significant on it at full height.
