The EGR valve lives a tough life. In fact, it probably has one of the hardest jobs of any part in a modern engine. It is constantly punished with the hottest temperatures that a car can create, and is hammered with particles of unburned fuel that are better known as carbon.

The EGR valve is delicate enough to be controlled by the engine vacuum or a computer, and yet also has the ability to withstand 1,000 degree carbon-filled exhaust gases each time the engine is run. Unfortunately, everything has a limit - including the EGR valve.

*Function of the EGR:
The function of the EGR is to control the flow of exhaust gas being recirculated depending on the engine load

*Symptoms of a clogged EGR:
Engine has a rough idle
Poor engine performance
Poor fuel economy
Frequent stalling
Increased emissions
Knocking noises from the engine

*Why is an injector service carried out?
The fuel injector can accumulate contaminants, which can lower the efficiency of the system and the engine. A fuel injector service cleans out these contaminants and gets the fuel injector working like new

*Solution for a Clogged EGR:
The EGR assembly & intake manifold are to be dismantled for service
The fuel injectors to be all removed and serviced
Fuel injectors, intake manifold and the EGR are all to be installed post servicing
