Steps to Show Rulers:

1. *Explanation of Rulers*
Horizontal and vertical rulers in Google Docs are very helpful for customizing document margins, adjusting indents, and testing content in specific sections. Without them, these functions are not accessible, which can be a problem when the rulers are missing.

2. *Default Ruler Display*
By default, all Google Docs will show both vertical and horizontal rulers when launching any document. If you have unknowingly removed the rulers, here is how to show them again.

3. *Restoring the Rulers*
Go to Google Docs and open any existing document. In my case, I don't have any vertical or horizontal ruler showing.
Go to "View" and click on "Show rulers."
Now you have both vertical and horizontal rulers showing.

4. *Changing Measurement Units*
If you live in the US, the rulers likely use inches, but here they are showing in centimeters.
To change the measurement units, go to the top right corner, click on your profile picture, and select "Manage Your Google Account."
After opening your Google account, click on "Personal info."
Scroll down to "Language" and click on it. Select "English" and choose the region you live in.
Save the changes, refresh the document, and now you will see the rulers using the appropriate measurement system.
