Bible Story –– Jesus Heals the Man at the Pool of Bethesda - John 5:1-9

Bible story Questions
Start off with asking questions regarding the lesson for today, encourage the children to share whatever they heard from the Bible Story. This is a good time to make sure the children understand what they’ve heard from the Bible Story today.

Questions…
1. What was the name of the big pool in Jerusalem? (Pool of Bethesda)
2. Who would come to the pool? (People who were sick, some who couldn’t see, some who couldn’t walk, and some who couldn’t move at all).
3. Why did they wait for the water to move? (Sometimes an angel of the Lord came down to the pool and stirred up the water).
4. What would happen when the pool was stirred? (The first person to jump into the pool was healed from any sickness he or she had).
5. There was a man who was sick for a very long time. How long was he sick? (Thirty-eight years)
6. What did Jesus say to the man? (“Stand up. Pick up your mat and walk”)
7. What amazing thing happened next? (The man picked up his mat and walked)
8. What amazing thing did Jesus do? (Jesus helped the man who couldn’t walk, be able to walk again. Jesus healed the man).
9. What can we do when someone is sick? (We can pray and ask Jesus to heal them)
10. Do you know of anyone who is sick that we can pray for and ask Jesus to heal them? (Ask children for names of people and pray for healing for the people
