Garrison life has been quiet for too long—and out on the high plains, boredom can be as dangerous as any enemy. With the men cooped up for months and tempers running short, Private Soothey decides he’s tired of routine duty and cooks up a plan to “stir up” a little action. The trouble is… the Cheyenne respond, and Fort Laramie suddenly finds itself dealing with consequences no one can laugh off.

As Captain Lee Quince (Raymond Burr) tries to keep discipline and prevent a full-blown disaster, the post is also facing another silent threat—scurvy and the need for fresh provisions—making every decision on the frontier feel like it could spark the next crisis.

Starring Raymond Burr, with Vic Perrin, Jack Moyles, and Harry Bartell. Written by John Meston and produced/directed by Norman Macdonnell, with music by Rex Koury.
