GT Alum (PubPol’03) Gareth Hedges was named President of The Redwoods Group in 2017. In his over 15 years with Redwoods, Gareth has served as Chief Claims Officer, General Counsel, Director of Consulting, and as a Risk Management Specialist focused on Aquatic and Child Safety. Gareth has trained thousands of staff and has presented at the National Drowning Prevention Symposium, Association of Aquatics Professionals Annual Conference, the World Conference on Drowning Prevention, World Aquatic Health Conference, and the American Camp Association National Conference, among others. Gareth serves as the Chair for the Darkness to Light Board of Directors and is a member of the Board for Habitat for Humanity of Durham. Mr. Hedges received a BS in Public Policy from Georgia Tech in 2003, and a JD from Albany Law School in 2009. He lives in Durham, North Carolina with his wife Nicole, and daughter Eleanor.
