Inspired by the classic mega coasters of Japan, such as Bandit at Yomiuriland and Fujiyama at Fuji-Q-Highland, Lunar Mountain Jet Coaster is a fantasy project that envisions what could've been if Schwarzkopf was contracted in Japan in the 1980s to build a massive terrain coaster that could compete with the best rides on the market at the time. A daunting 400-foot chain lift carries the 7-car trains to the top of Lunar Mountain, where riders begin their journey through the multi-mile layout, snaking their way around the terrain and making their way back to the station, but not without taking a few detours first. Shying away from the snappy transitions and seamless heartlined banking of modern-day constructions, this coaster harkens back to the days of old-school roller coaster shaping and hand-bent steel track in order to deliver an exciting ride filled with nostalgia and amazing views.
