WHAT YOU WILL NEED
- A large pot, depending on the size of your fabric.
- 1 - 2 Boxes of tea, depending on the size of your fabric. I used 85 tea bags to achieve my colour.
- Test Fabric, if you desire!

INSTRUCTIONS -
1. Bring a pot of water to a boil and soak your desired amount of teabags. I did 1 teabag for every cup of water. I had 85 cups in my pot. Make sure you stir the tea a few times to lift the tea from bottom and to ensure it is properly mixed. Let the tea steep for 10 to 15 minutes before removing the bags.

Black Tea - cream, tan or brown shades.
Green Tea - pale yellow or pale green shades.
Fruit/Flower Teas - pinkish/lavender shades.

2. Soak fabric in water, or spray it. You want your item to be damp, but not soaking wet when it goes into your tea.

3. Once your teabags are removed, take your pot off heat (or keep it on low, you don't want fabrics that are easy to shrink to sit in boiling water, so I removed mine altogether but heat will help in the dying process.. mine stayed warm for a very long time after, use your best judgement). Once it is room temperature, place your item into the pot. Check every few minutes for fabrics that soak up colour easily (cotton, linen) you can leave longer for other fabrics. I left mine for 3 hours.

4. When you’ve achieved your desired colour, remove the item from the pot. Hang it in a shower or over a bathtub, or tumble dry on it’s own at a medium to low heat. Do not squeeze out the tea, as this could result in a tie-dye effect.

***If you find that the item is too light, simply put it back into the pot. If the colour is too dark, wash the item using a stain remover.

5. To set the tea, soak the stained fabric in two parts vinegar, one part water, and two tablespoons salt. Soak for 15 minutes, rinse thoroughly, dry in the dryer, and press.

Good luck!!!!
