Summer Ricefish Ponds

I bought a few ponds for my backyard, join me for the journey (Zone 9a). I've kept fish in buckets before, but never prolonged exposure to the outdoors. Through the sweltering heat I was able to spawn Blue Miyuki Medaka Ricefish, Daisy's Ricefish, Black/Midnight Medaka Ricefish and Medaka Koi Ricefish. The Purple Mosaic and Assorted Guppies also made their outdoor debut.

I've gained a new understanding of nature as the outdoors took care of a few pests. I'm overall happy with the results. I do often wonder if there's dragonfly larvae or leeches in the ponds. I caught a cat fishing in the pond so I try to minimize light at night to make sure the fish have a chance.
